About Me
Welcome to third grade! It's going to be the best school year EVER!
My name is Vi An Vo. I was born on March 4th in Dayton, Ohio but I've spent most of my life in Dallas, Texas. After I graduated from University of North Texas, in 1998, I began teaching in Dallas. I taught second, art, and third grade. In 2005, I started teaching for Highland Park and, in 2006, I received my Masters degree from Southern Methodist University.
This is my 15th year to teach. I was honoured to be the 2010-2011 Elementary Teacher of the Year for Highland Park. I'm certified in regular education, English as second language, and Master Reading Teacher. Besides teaching third grade, I also help with technology locally and district-wide.
During my free time, I LOVE to go shopping, cooking, and reading. I combine all these hobbies with a huge cookbook collection. My favorite colors are teal, grey, and yellow. I also have a sweet tooth. I'll never say no to pie or ice cream.
This last spring I got two sweet puppies. Their names are Piper (shih tzu mix) and Lucy (maltese). Instead of travelling this summer, I decided to spend my free time with them (and getting ready to move UP to third grade). We had fun at the dog park, having picnics, and taking long walks. They are the sweetest things and I can't get enough of them!
Ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to be a teacher. I love to see all the learning going on in my classroom. I can't wait for another great year at UP!
